![]() Our Mission: The mission of the Leadership Corps is to work effectively with others in building health services management capacity in underserved areas of the world. ![]() Our Vision: The Leadership Corps will be recognized in the international health services community, with volunteers, and global partners, as effectively enhancing health services management capacity in underserved areas. | Welcome to the official website of the Leadership Corps. Thank you for visiting. The Leadership Corps, a 501c3 founded by Charles Evans and incorporated in Atlanta, Georgia, is a public-private partnership that links experienced, professionally trained managers with NGOs in developing countries. Our goal is to improve management and leadership capacity in these countries, leading to enhanced health services and better health outcomes. Many developing countries, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, are in desperate need of improving the managerial capacity of their senior and mid-level public health workforce. Health systems in these countries have an acute shortage of the right people in the right places. Additionally, health systems lack people who have “hard” management skills as well as people who have the managerial competencies to match their responsibilities. Consequently, health systems under-function and health programs have suboptimal outcomes. Volunteers in the Leadership Corps are recruited from existing industry personnel, as well as the fast growing cadre of retired, retiring and semi-retired executives, including military personnel. Volunteers are screened for selection into the Corps and then matched with NGOs based on their skill set and time commitment. Our volunteers work side-by-side with NGOs to build managerial and leadership capacity through training in specific management competencies. Additionally, volunteers work on projects identified through needs assessments and pre-deployment consultations with NGOs. We offer a dependable, safe and high-impact experience for our volunteers, dedicated to improving the quality of life in developing countries. We invite you to learn more about us by downloading and viewing our Project Charter.* If you are interested in joining our team of volunteers, or would like to learn about other ways that you can help, please click here to contact us now.
